LIGNA 2023: UNTHA shows reliable waste wood shredders
After a long break, LIGNA is back – probably one of the most important trade fairs for woodworking and processing companies. UNTHA was represented with its complete product portfolio for efficient residual wood recycling on a 120 m² stand. The trade fair week was filled with personal conversations, exciting discussions, and new insights.
"The Visitors of the LIGNA were already well informed before the fair and asked specific questions about individual products. It was clear that they were looking for personal contact, exchange, and advice. As an exhibitor, we are very pleased about this – in such discussions we quickly find the right shredding solution for our prospective customers," says Josef Gruber, Head of Global Sales and Business Development BU Wood at UNTHA.
This year's LIGNA attracted around 1,300 companies from 50 countries. The countless visitors to the fair were equally international. UNTHA presented its complete range of products for the shredding of waste wood at its 120 m² stand: the 1- and 4-shaft shredders of the LR and RS classes as well as screw conveyors and belts including metal separators. The Austrian premium manufacturer thus covers all areas – from compact shredders for smaller operations to high-performance and high-throughput shredders for the woodworking and processing industry.
Individual system solutions and consulting expertise
In addition to efficient residual wood shredders, UNTHA also stands for customised complete solutions. "Demand is increasingly moving towards system solutions consisting of shredders and conveyor technology. We adapt the individual components to the needs of our customers and plan complete packages individually," says Josef Gruber. In addition to the innovative technology of the UNTHA shredders, the advice and services of the shredding experts are also convincing. "Personal discussions and individual advice are becoming increasingly important. That's why we also relied on generous communication areas at our trade fair stand. This allowed us to present our products to partners, customers and interested parties and provide them with comprehensive advice," says Josef Gruber, explaining the concept of the trade fair stand.
Relevance of residual wood utilisation continues to increase
Wood is becoming more and more important as a renewable raw material. And residual wood recycling is also becoming more and more important. On the one hand, in order to use this valuable resource as efficiently as possible. And on the other hand, because of the constantly rising costs and uncertainties in the area of fossil fuels. "More and more wood processing companies want to make good use of the residual wood that accumulates in production. Shredding and subsequent firing directly in their own operations is a natural choice here. Many of them use the residual wood to heat their entire company building as well as neighbouring residential buildings. This makes them largely self-sufficient from external energy and heat sources," says Josef Gruber. UNTHA's shredders make a valuable contribution to the economic utilisation of waste wood. And the shredders themselves are also designed for sustainable operation: they work energy-efficiently and are robustly built, which also makes them particularly durable. With appropriate service and maintenance services, UNTHA also ensures that the performance and function of the shredders are maintained for a long time.
