And UNTHA was one of 300 exhibitors to attract a crowd.

The International Greentech & Eco Products Exhibition & Conference Malaysia has grown to become the largest sustainability event in Southeast Asia, providing a platform for industry professionals to drive innovation that will lead to a more environmentally robust future.

And as a global brand that has cared about the planet for 50 years – and counting – it made perfect sense for UNTHA to attend.

Collaborating with foreign trade pioneers, Advantage Austria – with support from their head Reinhart Zimmermann – we met hundreds of global delegates all keen to transform ‘waste’ materials into resources that can be reused, recycled, remanufactured, and used for energy recovery.

UNTHA’s head of global sales, Peter Streinik, and sales director for Southeast Asia, Sigi Lohmeier, were inundated with enquiries for waste shredders large and small, with the world-acclaimed single shaft XR shredder and two shaft ZR pre-shredder unsurprisingly attracting lots of attention.

Commenting on the trip, Peter said: “We know that engineering innovation plays a significant part in changing attitudes towards ‘waste’ – so many people still don’t know exactly which materials can be shredded and how homogenous the output can be.

“It’s our job to investigate, educate, and collaborate with waste handlers around the world, to showcase just what’s possible. We already have a developing presence in Southeast Asia, and after the IGEM expo, I’d say we’re likely to be at least 50% busier in Malaysia and the surrounding countries, in 2023.”
